Let’s go spin around in some public place without even the slightest care. People will give us curious stares and we’ll tell them to go and shove their noses where it belongs and we’ll walk away laughing.

Let’s go watch some fireworks. We’ll just stand there and as the lights go bigger and more intricate, we’ll find ourselves being in awe and forget all our problems even for just a fleeting moment.

Let’s go watch the sun go down on some pristine beach I know because I would love that and it’s the most beautiful and the most peaceful thing in the world. It’s a perfect example of how things can just feel so right. I might sneak and snake my arm around your shoulders because it seems to work in sappy movies. 

Let’s watch the stars pop out one by one and I’ll tell you which star is which as they form the constellations. I might have forgotten some of them but then, I’ll have a reason to name a star with your name.

Let’s just stay here in where we are for a little while because for me it’s just perfect and a little bit scary but exciting nonetheless.

Go after her. Don’t sit there and wait for her to call, go after her because that’s what you should do if you like someone. Don’t wait for them to give you a sign because it might never come. Don’t let people happen to you, don’t let me happen to you, or her. She’s not a freaking television show or tornado. There are people I might have loved had they gotten on the airplane or run down the street after me or called me up drunk at four in the morning because they need to tell me right now and because they cannot regret this and I always thought I’d be the only one doing crazy things for people who would never give enough of a fuck to do it back or to act like idiots or be entirely vulnerable and honest. And making someone fall in love with you is easy and flying 3000 miles on four days notice because you can’t just sit there and do nothing and breathe into telephones is not everyone’s idea of love but it is the way I can recognize it because that’s what I do. Go scream it and be with her in meaningful ways because that is beautiful and that is generous and that is what loving someone is, that is raw and that is unguarded, and that is all that is worth anything, really.
